FRANK OCEAN TELLS TRAVIS SCOTT – “WHETHER NUMBER ONE OR NUMBER TWO, REMOVE ME FROM ASTROWORLD!!!”
Frank Ocean wants to be removed from Carousel, a song he was featured on by the Astroworld crooner.
Christopher Francis Ocean popularly know and Frank Ocean is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, rapper, and photographer. Ocean began his musical career as a ghostwriter, prior to joining hip hop collective Odd Future in 2010.
He is pulling a 180 on Travis Scott, who is the baby daddy of Kylie Jenner. He is pulling on him because of the last minute changes he undertook on “Carousel.” The 2nd track on Astroworld brings to light a chorus and a verse from the singer, except alterations were done without his consent. Ocean caught wind of the change when the LP dropped on August 3rd.
Apparently, Frank Ocean’s auto-tune rendering was pitched higher than agreed upon in the final consultation. Travis made the pitch change within the 3rd verse, which both men perform interchangeably. This is but a theory, the truth is wrapped in legal paperwork.
The issue has already become a legal matter, according to TMZ. Both artist’s legal teams have been summoned into action, following Frank’s cease and desist order to see his part(s) removed from the song. Washing himself clean of “Carousel” would likely result in the song’s complete dissolution, considering the integral part Ocean plays in the songwriting process.
Astroworld was released in August and also includes appearances from James Blake, Stevie Wonder, and Drake. Scott will tour the album later this year as well as hosting his own music festival. Astroworld debuted at number one which made Nicki Minaj mad for a while and has been causing controversies and spurring the beef between Nicki Minaj and Cardi.
